Scholarly subject encyclopedias can be a great starting point for your research. Encyclopedias can give context and provide new keywords to use in your searches. Encyclopedias will often provide bibliographies for each topic which will give you more resources to use in your research. These encyclopedias should never be quoted or cited in academic papers because they are not primary or secondary sources.
