Welcome to Hester Memorial Library,
My name is Lian Warner, and I am the Instruction and Public Services Librarian here at North Greenville University,
You are about to embark on the NGU 101 Library Orientation (and tour), which is part of week 2’s module in your NGU 101 course.
The Library Orientation is vital to your success inside and outside of the classroom and will include important information for accessing library services both on and off campus. It will consist of a 50-minute, 4-part session that will introduce you to library services, using the NGU library system and discovery service Primo, and basic library and research skills that are applicable for all your classes and even leisure interests as well. Finally, we will take you around a physical tour of the library.
You will be required to sign up for a time to take outside of class to take the library orientation, and you will take a short quiz at the end of the session that will be used as an assignment in the class.
You can sign up for an available time either inside the library or via the Eventbrite link.
For the first time ever, we are super excited to offer a hybrid course that will allow you to complete parts 1-3 online at your own time and leisure, this will reduce your in-person session to 30 minutes. You will be required to pass short quiz from the online portion with 80% before gaining entrance into the physical session. The final quiz will be the only grade reflected for your course.
