CURRICULUM LAB

Hours

The Curriculum Lab is available for use all of the hours that the library is open.  The Curriculum Lab may remain locked during library hours for security purposes.  If the lab is locked, students may gain access by request under the supervision of the circulation or reference staff.

The Reference librarians offer regular and timely instruction, assistance and training in locating and using the resources and equipment housed in the Curriculum Lab through class tours of the lab as well as offering individual assistance to any student and faculty in person or via telephone on an as-needed basis.

The Curriculum Lab provides various materials and services to the student body.  Students may purchase poster boards, art craft paper (butcher paper), construction paper, sentence strips, and bulletin board resources.  Services include lamination and binding.

The Curriculum Lab currently carries state-approved elementary and middle school textbooks in all core subject areas used in surrounding public school districts. Our subject areas are as follows: English & Language Arts, Mathematics, Music, Science, Social Studies, and Health. We have secondary textbooks in ELA, math, social studies, and Spanish. We also offer thematic science, language arts, and math kits.  In addition, we have in stock over 200 different manipulatives.  We also supply a number of big books and educational games across a variety of subject areas.  Also available on the shelves are children’s literature, adolescent literature, and young adult literature as well as the current South Carolina state standards for all grade levels and model lesson plans from every subject area.

All of our materials are available for students to check out. While the Curriculum Lab is of special interest to education majors, it is open to all students, faculty, and staff.

The Reference staff is available to assist any student in finding the right materials.
